Technical Visits

All visits are subject to a small charge.

Option 1 : Inside Oxford

A visit to two of the University of Oxford’s newest Research Facilities  -  in Applied Superconductivity and Quantum Computing technology.

Option 2 : Outside Oxford Industry

A visit  to Industry, visiting Oxford Instruments and one other member of the ‘British Cryogenic Cluster’ concentrated around Oxford.

Option 3 : Outside Oxford Research

A visit to the Research Campuses at Culham and Harwell, with a brief stop at the ‘University Technical College,’ the first High School in the world with its own Cryogenics Lab.

Option 4 : Birmingham

A visit to the Centre for Cryogenic Energy Storage at Birmingham University, home to a Liquid Air Energy Storage plant & the Dearman Engine Lab [the engine runs on Liquid Nitrogen].
